Well, I should tell you all about my brilliant weekend, ne?
Well, yesterday was the big Frogs on Stage day. Now, I promised myself I wouldn’t talk about my flaily interests on here, but it’s such a huge part of this weekend, I have to mention it. XD So, when I first found out I was moving short notice, this event was announced a day or two later. It was a movie screening, with a talk event afterwards with one of the actors. The actor in Yokohama, the location closest to me, is my favourite actor. So I was SO excited.
Anyways, we got to go yesterday. I met up with Becca and Laura, two friends who also work for Interac, at Yokohama station, and we headed over to MinatoMirai, where the theatre was. The movie was great. But the exciting part was after. Now, when I had got the tickets, I was under the impression that the one actor would be there. And I was more than happy with that. But then, after a lot of fast talking I didn’t understand, the PR woman introduced.. the cast.
THE ENTIRE CAST, EXCEPT ONE, WAS THERE. I was over the moon, because I love that entire cast, so getting to see them all was amazing. PLUS, as they were walking in, two of them were looking at the audience. And in a sea of Asian girls, two white girls sitting in the 4th row tend to stick out. So we had my favourite actor looking at us for a moment going “Oh my god, we have foreign fans too?” Which was quite a fun moment
Afterwards, we headed in to Shibuya. I was so excited, because I got to go to Shibuya crossing. When I was writing my movie, I set a lot of my movie in this area, and I always wanted to get to see it. So yesterday was amazing, because I was experiencing things I had been dreaming of and imaging for months and months. We went to a store called Gain, because so many of my friends love it there, I wanted to meet the Taichou. He was an absolute SWEETHEART. And there was a shirt there that I adore. I don’t know if I would ever wear it though..
After going to Gain, we met Lindsay, a friend of Becca and Laura’s at TGIFridays. It was really fun. The nice thing about Japan is that the trains end at midnight. So, if you want to go home, it makes sure you’re at home at a decent time. However, if you want to stay out at night, you can be out until dawn if you really wanted. It’s insane. I opted to go home.
Today was suppose to be raining. But it wasn’t, so I went downtown. I needed to pick up a few things, so I headed to a department store at Yokosukachuo. One of the ones I visited, Seiyu, turned out to be Walmart, I think. They had the same Rollback tags. It was very not cool. I asked the guy in electronics if they had what I needed. They didn’t and he sent me to another store, Mores. I was impressed, he went and sent my business somewhere else!
So, on the way to this other department store, I was exploring. I discovered Japanese Subway. And… I don’t think I can ever go back to North American Subway. They have a roasted chicken toasted wrap. It was the most amazing thing EVER.
As well, I played Taiko Drum Master at a game centre, and it was AMAZING. I so want to go back and play again.
I’m a very happy camper right now, because I was able to pick up my extension cords and the CD I wanted. Now I just need to find a MicroSD card that works with my phone. Lesson I learnt today: don’t go with the cheapest. Your phone might be a spoilt brat, and the card won’t work with anything you could possibly use it with. (>.<)
Tonight was the first night where I made my own dinner – chicken fried rice. Thank goodness Becca gave me her rice cooker, now I can eat and save money. Though, it doesn’t feel like I’m saving money. Rice was SO expensive! It was heart breaking.
Now, I’m going to have a hot shower and settle down to watch a night of Olympic qualifiers in volleyball. It’s very exciting, I’m impressed. The Japanese team is hard core!
